No “mommy motivator” presenters.... we know your time is precious and if you are taking time out of your busy, bossy schedules to attend a Bossy event; it is our priority to ensure that you have a new skill or tool you can use to GROW YOUR BUSINESS!  Plus, who are we kidding, you are obviously motivated already – or you wouldn’t be an entrepreneur!

We are a true blue (I mean pink!) business network for women JUST LIKE YOU!  If you were/are used to networking with traditional networks, but now don’t seem to fit in as a female entrepreneur, look no further and join Bossy Mama.  We have amazing and educational monthly networking events with fantastic speakers as well as multiple large events per year.  Our Bossy Mama Brunch in April was a huge success with more than 150 women in attendance.  We focussed on PR and Communications at that event.  The Bossy Mama Flaunt is coming to the Oasis in West Edmonton in October and will be a boutique tradeshow honouring women in business with fantastic sponsors, businesses and a few vendor perks like a free lunch (provided by D’Lish!) AND a private sales seminar to get everyone pumped up before the public rushes in by Kim Duke, The Sales Diva.

Here are a few of our commonly asked questions:
Do I have to be a mother to join?
                NOPE!  While it is true that we are women’s business network, many of our members are moms – about 80%.  Some of us are also Grandmothers, mother’s to teens and adults, newly pregnant or merely thinking about the possibility of a baby someday.  Basically, the Bossy Mama tree house is adorned with a ‘no boys allowed sign!’ That is the only stipulation for membership.... and you must have that special entrepreneurial spirit!

What if I am already a member and my logo is on your website – do I have to pay?
                For everyone that is currently on our website, but have not paid the $125 annual membership fee, you are a “Trial Member.”  To be an active member, you must pay your $125 dues.  The first membership period doesn’t begin until September, so even if you join now (to get the Flaunt discounts and show your support of Bossy Mama!) your membership will not expire until August 31, 2011.  These dues go towards events, our website and additional resources such as staff.

What are the perks of membership?
-          Monthly events are less expensive, $10 as opposed to the non-member price of $25

Who is TheBossyMama?
-          My name is Carol McBee and I am JUST LIKE YOU!  I was a past professional with a public company and decided to leave the corporate world and run my own business.  I am also a mother to a toddler.  I didn’t fit in at the usual networking events anymore and wanted to join something.
-          I couldn’t find anything to join, so I started Bossy Mama as more of a club for my fellow entrepreneurial girlfriends and BAM – this amazing network of more than 170 members was born!
-          I will do everything I can do connect, empower and inspire like-minded women
